Every year, the legend of the Air gets busier and bolder around March. What was originally a day for hardcore Ekin’s to celebrate the bubble, Nike is now really getting behind Air Max Day as a world wide reflection so we can all get together, talk about running, counting bulbs of captured air, buffing the windows clear again with our thumbs and this year Nike Australia is going all out with a month of monster budget events to coordinate with launches like the React and 270, for literally everyone in Melbourne to enjoy, for free. Crazy.
Although airrr-less the React launched last week with the “House of Go” (look out for another blog post), and to come, more parties and celebration of Air Max day on March 25th.
However, to celebrate the launch of the new model, the 270; Nike, in collaboration with Ta-ku and Sam Price, have come together to get swole with “Air House”, b’dubbed the “Greatest expression of Air to date in Melbourne” ever.
Introduced by the artist themselves, the new Nike Air model, the 270, is a culmination of the Nike Air Max 93 and the Nike Air 180 fused. And so, they represented those shoes, in a stairwell-decked-art installation with swish touch points, the sneakers + other iconic models, information of their inspirations, audio prepared and curated by Ta-Ku topped off with incredible rendered animations on scattered flat screens by Sam Price.
The Air House opens this week for the month of March leading up to Air Max Day, so please feel free to visit.
