Medicom Toy BE@RBRICK - The British Museum "The Rosetta Stone" 1000% Bearbrick

1000% size is 700mm tall.

Truly one of the most amazing, historical, and versatile designs we have ever stocked from Medicom that would make a great addition to absolutely any home, with muted dark stone colour-way, and the allure of history and mystery.

The first official collaboration project between the British Museum in London and Medicom Toy Bearbrick.  Among the many valuable exhibits, the first motif is the stone tablet "Rosetta Stone" which is said to be the key to solving the mysteries of ancient Egypt.

The stele composed of granodiorite is inscribed with three version of a decree issued in Memphis, Egypt dating back to 196bc during the Ptolemaic dynasty, on behalf of King Ptolemy V Epiphanes. The texts, top down, are made up of Hieroglyphic, Demotic and Ancient Greek, and containing three minor differences between the versions, making the Rosetta Stone key in deciphering Egyptian scripts. It was discovered in 1799 by Pierre-Francois Bouchard during the Napoleonic campaign in Egypt, and when the British defeated the french in 1801 it was taken to London. Since 1802 it has been on display at he British Museum as the most continuously visited object on display.

Please note Medicom Toy use a hydro-printing method to create unique and detailed print coverage, because of this every Bearbrick will differ slightly in design. Units are all brand new, sealed and selected at random. Delivered item may appear different compared to listing photos.  We do not open units and there is strictly no returns or exchanges on Bearbricks once they are open/if you are unhappy with the location of prints.
